An industry is the manufacturing of goods and services. The term industry is sometimes used to describe a very precise business activity or a more generic business activity. If a company participates in multiple business activities, it is usually considered to be in the industry in which most of its revenues are derived.
All countries depend significantly on industries. There are four key industrial economic sectors: the primary sector, secondary sector, tertiary sector and quaternary sector.
