The word "doctor" comes from the Latin "docere" meaning to teach. Doctor is a person licensed to practice medicine and any of the healing arts, as an osteopath, dentist, veterinarian, etc. A doctor may, for example, be a physician, psychologist, biomedical scientist, dentist, or veterinarian. Qualification of a doctor can be Ph.D., MBBS, MD, MDCM and so on.
